Short definitions for every term used in Pillar and in this help center.

A#

AADT — Average Annual Daily Traffic. Used in the Traffic community layer.

Absentee owner — An owner whose mailing address differs from the parcel address. Often a filter target for off-market outreach.

Admin — Organization role with billing, membership, and settings control.

AGS — Automatic Geographic Segmentation. Bundled with annual subscriptions. Demographics auto-appended to every parcel.

APN — Assessor's Parcel Number. The county's unique identifier for a parcel.

B#

Basemap — The background map layer (streets, satellite, etc.).

Block group — The Census geographic unit demographics are joined on.

C#

Campaign — An outreach send: audience + creative + schedule.

Centroid — The geographic center point of a polygon. Pillar uses centroids (pc_point_wkt) for parcel search performance.

Credit — Metered currency for per-unit actions (skip trace, agent work).

D#

Dynamic list — A list that stays in sync with a filter, updating as parcel data changes.

Enrichment — Looking up owner contact info (skip trace) and attaching it to a list.

F#

Filter — Criteria that narrow parcel results.

Fluid compute — Pillar's term for the container runtime that hosts agent sandboxes.

L#

Layer — A dataset overlaid on the map (demographics, zoning, traffic). Layers are for context, not filtering.

List — A saved group of parcels.

M#

Match rate — The percentage of rows in a skip-trace batch that return a successful owner lookup.

N#

NFHL — National Flood Hazard Layer. FEMA's official flood designation data, surfaced as a community layer.

O#

Organization — The unit of billing and collaboration. Everything is scoped to an org.

Outreach — Direct mail campaigns sent through Pillar.

P#

Parcel — A single tax-assessed land record.

Pipeline — The Kanban-style board of projects in the CRM.

Project — A single deal or site being tracked.

S#

Sandbox — An isolated container where an agent session runs.

Skip trace — The process of finding owner contact info.

Static list — A frozen snapshot list that doesn't update with new parcel data.

T#

Tag — A freeform label you can attach to lists, projects, or tasks.

Z#

Zoning — Land-use classification set at the county or municipal level. Sold as an annual add-on.

Zonomics — Pillar's zoning data partner.
